Shawn Jackman (Jack) CWNE#54 is a personal friend and has been a mentor to me for many years.  I've had the pleasure and opportunity to work with Jack for 4 years. Jack is a great teacher who takes complex 802.11 standards and breaks them down so almost anyone can understand the concept at hand. I'm excited for you brother. Great job and job well done! Put another notch in the belt!

My LAB

The lab ...........................
I cant begin to total what I've invested. Its not as much as some of my friend's IE labs, but I can assure you it hasn't been a cheap road. Over the years I've been a very good  Ebay and Craigs list shopper. Setting up alerts, spending a few minutes a day checking the latest listings and looking for a good deal.

I'm a hands on engineer. You know the type. The one who takes it out of the box and wants to know every single command and why this does what it does. I have a pretty impressive lab if i say so myself. The recent addition of a 4402-12 has been very helpful in my studies.

An overview:

WLC 4402-12
WLC 2006
1200's
1252
1131
3550's
2621's
1700's
Pix 501
ACS Server Appliance 4.1 code

Hi George,

this is a great Wireless Lab. Can you tell me how many bucks you spend for the used 4400 Controller to get a rough estimation for my own lab?

Thanks
Norbert

Hello Norbert,
I got mine off ebay for $2800.00. I would expect to spend between $2500 - $3500.

Thanks George - it's a big investment. Hope that your CCIE Wireless dream comes true.

Nice lab. I hear ya about the expense of it all. But there is absolutely nothing like real gear to work with.

One of my next tasks is comparing the WLC 4024, 4101/4124/4136 with the 4402 models. I'm looking for functionality at the moment.
